Character
Today at work I was thinking about some difficulties or things that my own mind couldn't wrap around so I decided to go to lds.org and search for some talks that might hold the answers. I stumbled upon this little gem and found/read a lot of the things I was looking for (and some answers I didn't know I was looking for).
Click here for the whole talk.
Trust in the Lord
by Elder Richard G. Scott
"Getting through the hazards of life requires understanding, skill, experience, and self-assurance like that required to sink a difficult basket under pressure. In the game of life, that is called righteous character. Such character is not developed in moments of great challenge or temptation. That is when it is used. Character is woven quietly from the threads of hundreds of correct decisions (like practice sessions). When strengthened by obedience and worthy acts, correct decisions form a fabric of character that brings victory in time of great need.
Righteous character provides the foundation of spiritual strength that enables you to make difficult, extremely important decisions correctly when they seem overpowering.
Righteous character is what you are. It is more important than what you own, what you have learned, or what you have accomplished. It allows you to be trusted. It opens the door to help from the Lord in moments of great challenge or temptation.
Be honest. Righteous character is based on integrity.
Never lie to yourself. A lie can give temporary advantage, but it brings with it long-term difficulties. Make no premeditated plans to do wrong, no lies to gain advantage, no falsehood to cover mistakes. When you are completely honest with yourself and measure your acts against what you know is right, you will not be dishonest with anyone. Moreover, you will make sure the Lord can bless you when you need it.
When you are tempted to break a commandment and hide it from others, don’t do it. It will always hurt you. Satan will see to that. He’ll make it known because he wants to destroy you.
You have observed how some of your friends try to live a double standard of life. They want to appear to their parents and church leaders as though they are doing the right things, but secretly they do otherwise. They may have moments of excitement they consider pleasure, but they can never be at peace or truly happy. They fight against themselves internally and run the risk of destroying mind and body."
There were A LOT more excerpts I loved but just thought I'd add one.
Ok, maybe two.
"In many ways, the world is like a jungle, with dangers that can harm or mutilate your body, enslave or destroy your mind, or decimate your morality. It was intended that life be a challenge, not so that you would fail, but that you might succeed through overcoming. You face on every hand difficult but vitally important decisions. There is an array of temptations, destructive influences, and camouflaged dangers, the like of which no previous generation has faced. I am persuaded that today no one, no matter how gifted, strong, or intelligent, will avoid serious problems without seeking the help of the Lord.
I repeat: Don’t face the world alone. Trust in the Lord."

Spring Break 2012
Saturday the 10th was really exciting because Alexandria got married! Her wedding was in the morning on a BE-AU-TIFUL golf course which only made me want to go to Hawaii even more. After her and Nick got married we went outside for pictures where my mom and I took this little gem.
Like mother like daughter I suppose! Then we sat down for a fancy luncheon full of the bubbly, chocolate, and wonderful food. It was great. And Alexandria looked beautiful! Congrats! The next day we went to church in my home ward and watched the indie movie Like Crazy. I still don't know how I feel about it but I definitely cried. Next Tasha suggested we go outside where her and Tyler started playing basketball and within the first 2 minutes of stepping outside had sprained/pulled something in her ankle. BUT no worries! I single handedly carried her inside with all the strength I have built up from lifting weights. Haha, just kidding. Tyler and I helped her limp inside and we spent the rest of the evening watching TV and icing her ankle. The rest of the week is blur (from all the crazy parties, ya know??? JK, again.) because we didn't do much. We lounged around the backyard trying to start a tan that has been long forgotten. And my feet got reacquainted with the sun. They missed each other. I read The Lucky One and loved it (as I mentioned below). I watched little Emmy a couple mornings. We hit up the strip and went to some of Jordan's baseball games! Seriously though the week was a blast.
Oh, and we ate good food. I mean who can forget that! We all came back with a little more love (handles) than when we left.
Yummmmm. The real fun started on the second weekend in town. Lexie's bachelorette was on Friday night before her wedding. We had a scavenger hunt on the strip and none of us could stop laughing! All in all we made 12 bucks, met a LOT of drunk guys, got called young a lot (don't mind if I do), and made some good memories.
The next morning was the big day! I was so happy to be apart of Lexie's bridal party and even though it was her special day, she made me feel EXTRA special :) The morning of the 17th I met up with her while we both got our hair done. A few hours later I sat in the lobby of the temple (like a boss) and watched the little kids run around while Lexie & Jon got sealed! After the sealing they walked out the doors as a married couple! We laughed, we cried, we got blown away by the crazy wind. But it was fun taking pictures around the temple.
Later that evening I got to the Spanish Trails golf course club house where her GORGEOUS reception was held! We took even more pics where my cheeks began to hurt so it will be interesting to see how the pictures turn out with my little cheeks on fiyah (fire). Anyways, we danced the night away and I even caught the bouquet! I seriously had the time of my life and that was the most fun reception I have been to in a while!
(Doesn't she look so pretty? ^^) Sunday consisted of a long and unwanted drive back to the frigid Utah weather. However, it was one of the best road trips ever! We had WAY too much fun driving back and 6 hours felt like 2.
Welp, that was my spring break adventure :) Can't wait for my summer adventures!!

Wanderlust
I got to hang out with Miss Emerson while I was there. I mean how could you not love her chubby little cheeks!?
On the last day I was in town we went to BJ's for lunch, yummmmmmmmmmmm. And then we went to Neilson's for dessert. Double yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
This is kind of out of order but backing up a little bit.... Another reason why I went home with 2 of my friends, Erin and Melissa, was because my dear friend Kekoa returned from his mission! It was his homecoming talk that Sunday so we got to spend some nice and clean fun with him on the Strip. It's possible, I swear.
The Arch de Triumph in Las Vegas... Almost looks like the real one!!
Psych. It's a lot smaller. See picture below for the real Arch de Triumph in Paris. Man, I miss that place.
Besides President's day weekend the rest of my weeks have been filled with UVU basketball games, listening to my friends play music at Winger's, watching movies, running around with my head cut off, working, going to school, working events, and much much more!

[won-der-luhst]
The title of this post is wanderlust because that is what describes me best. Lately, all I want to do is travel the world. I sit behind a desk and stare at a computer for a good portion of my days and it's torture! Don't you wish you had unlimited funds to go and travel anywhere you wanted? ME TOO. I need to plan my next adventure!
Fun Facts:
- A week and a half weeks ago Jason Alexander came to UVU where UVUSA and other prestigious employees of UVU ate dinner with him. Then he came and spoke to the student body as well as held acting workshops for a couple days. Click here if you don't know who Jason Alexander is.
- This morning I tried Greek yogurt for the first time. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet... wasn't gross ... wasn't delicious. And it was gritty.
