National Cheesecake Day

Did you know...
That yesterday was National Cheesecake Day?
And being the upstanding citizens we are,
We just had  to celebrate.
 Sam drove.
 Sam paid.
And this is the song we blasted with the windows rolled down.

Thank you to the wonderful human being that created cheesecake.
You're the best.

New Discoveries of the Week

So my roommate Hilary and I decided we'd do this crazy challenge
where we don't drink soda, eat bread, or eat any sweets for a week.
The usual reaction I get to this is,
"You're crazy! You're denying happiness!"
I actually beg to differ
(and trust me I'm a strong believe in all that is ice cream and chocolate)
but due to this new found challenge I have made new discoveries
that I LOVE.
Such as...
Banana chips
Have you eaten these things yet?
I strongly suggest them if you need something to munch on
(at work in my example). Also I find them to be a great
replacement of good ol' fashioned chips

Now get ready for this one because I can't stop eating this stuff.
POPPY SEED DRESSING.
I'm in love.
And I know you are all thinking it... cause my mom said it.
"Is that even fat free?"
No actually it's not but I never said I wasn't going to eat fatty foods.
But at least I eat it with a bunch of spinach salad so that counts for something ;)

Last but not least... My favorite album.
I recently purchased Birdy's new album of covers
and I haven't listened to anything else since.
I sure do love her music.

The Books of May

So a loooong time ago I promised to blog about the books I read in May.
Well it may have taken me a couple months but here it is!
I don't know about you but I really love reading.
In May I found myself having a lot more down time than usual,
with school being out and all.
Here we go
(also this is a no judgement zone)
So this summer has been full of (good) changes
One of those changes is changing my major to Public Relations!
My good friend Ari let me borrow this book written by Kelly Cutrone
She owns a PR company named People's Revolution
(featured on The Hills)
This book gave me a lot of insight into my new career field.
It was very interesting (and at times disturbing) to read about
her own personal journey into PR along with her triumphs and failures.
It's a really good book but has some language so don't read it
if F words make you uncomfortable.
She's kind of a bad a**

Ok, so here is where the no judgement rule applies...
I will just come out and admit that I am a HUGE fan of The Vampire Diaries TV show.
And this last season was driving me crazy with secrets so I just decided to read the books and find out what happens. I know I am just ruining it for myself, right?
WRONG.
The books were nothing like the TV series and thanks GOODNESS!
The book series were terrible.
The plot was so dumb.
And the only relation between the two are some of the names.
I would not recommend these books to anyone.
They were also almost 600 pages each.
But I started them so I had to finish them.

 Dumb.

This last book was definitely one of my all time favorites.
Stephanie Nielson, a Provo native, was in a plane crash with her husband that burned 80% of her body.
Her husband burned 30% of his body and broke his back.
In this book she goes into extreme detail about her life before, during, and after the accident.
I found this book to be so powerful spiritually and emotionally.
Stephanie explains how her faith got her through the accident and the recovery which were both very hard to read. Reading those parts of her life in such detail definitely brought me to tears.
I WOULD recommend this book to ANYONE.
It's very uplifting and will teach you what is most important in life
and how to always look towards Heaven for the answers.

Till next time :)

Hey yoouuu guysss!

If you don't know what movie the title of this post came from....
I'm not sure we can be friends anymore.
Just kidding.
Kind of.
But I think it's time for a summer update, shall we?
Putting on private concerts for my friends.
I may or may not have sung Enrique Iglesias.
(No, I can't actually play the guitar)
The quality of this concert is left up to your imagination, haha.
Training for 5K's with Zack Attack!
Taking pictures to make Travis jealous.
Really we were just jealous he was in Europe for 3 weeks.
Checking more items off the "To Do While You Live In Provo" list
Rooftop Concert Series
I think it's safe to say I enjoyed myself.
Last week I was lucky enough to have my family visit me for a WHOLE WEEK!
Jord & I had tons of fun goofing around.
And we ate a lot
A LOT.
It was so fun hanging out with them :)

Picture of the wild fires engulfing Utah.

 My mom is the cutest!
 The fam at City Creek
 Candid pics of my dad
My mom just making friends everywhere she goes.
 Proof I can cook...
Haters gonna hate.
 4th of July parade!
Poor kid wasn't used to the 4 hours of sleep schedule
Thanks to Miss Erin Butler we got to try some free food
at the new restaurant opening in downtown Provo.
It was DE-LISH.
Where's the gnome??

I was so sad to see my family leave but luckily we're having a girl's week in Provo really soon! I can't wait to see my cute niece who has just started growing her second tooth!! How do they grow up so fast? ALSO, I started a new job that I am absolutely loving! It feels so good to be working in a field that I am getting a degree in. So that has been keeping me a very busy girl. I know I say this all the time but why do summers have to go by so fast? Can't they last forever?

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday the 13th.
Until next time :)

Summer Forever

Hey bloggers!
Lately I have felt like a chicken running with its head cut off.
But guess what??
I started a super cool new job.
And I love it!
And I love summer but I can feel it slipping between my fingers
I wish it would stay forever.
I will update you all on my current sitch soon enough.
Also, my family was in town last week
so that just added to the (fun) craziness.
Hope all is well.

Keep on
Keepin' on.
