Favorite song:

Favorite laugh:
Janelle's mom is cray.

5 Star bbq!

It just means that I'm famous now.
Right?
Guys?

Favorite quote:

Favorite part of the week:
THAT IT'S OVER!
Do you ever feel like life just gives you a good drop kick to the face?
I definitely feel like I have taken a beating the last couple of days.
No sleep
Lots of work
Lots of homework
Now I don't even want to hear to word homework till Monday!!

Presidential Ball 2012

Last night I attended the Emerald Ball (Presidential Ball) at UVU.
This was my 3rd year in a row going!
It's a chance to get all dolled up and hang out with President Holland.
This year I was lucky enough to have Travis be my date.
He was such a trooper since I forced him to slow dance with me to all the slow songs!
I can't help it... this girl has got dancing feet.
Anyways, it was a blast.
Here's to the Emerald Ball 2012!

 Where are my vampires at?

One of the highlights?
Running into Miss Dani VanWagoner.
We were on Senate together last year.
We roomed together in Nashville.
Swam together with The Buried Life.
I miss this girl.
We've had some crazy adventures together!
I adore her.

Let's do a little blast from the past, shall we?

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break was wonderful
There is nothing I love more than being in my home town
with my family
and sleeping in my own bed in a dark room
(since my room in Provo is facing a busy street with street lamps shining through my windows)

I went home for about 5 days
They all kind of blur together but here are a few highlights from my vacay.
Playing Skip-Bo with the family and losing terribly with GG (Grandma Gayla)
She's adorable, right?
Playing basketball in my backyard with my brothers
Sitting outside by the bonfire after a HUGE Thanksgiving meal
 Messing around with Jo Jo
 Going to Jordan's baseball games

 GG was cold
It wouldn't have been a trip home without a stop to Stoney's with my friends!
I just love country dancing.

I couldn't resist photo bombing Kayla's cute pic with her golden ticket

I got to see a lot of old friends while I was home and it was seriously so refreshing.
I miss all my buddies and I'm so excited they are all back from their missions!

The boys in my family let me tag along with them to Red Dawn on Thanksgiving night.
It was actually a really really good movie.
And that means a lot coming from me!
(I'm not a huge action packed movie goer)
However, this movie is not for the weak hearted.
The movie picks up right away and doesn't let you lean back into your seat the entire time
I felt like I was having a heart attack for 2 hours, haha.
It's just that intense
And then you leave without any happy ever after feelings
So it takes you about an hour or so to get over the shock
and stop talking about the movie.
Or at least that's what happened with my fam.
Seriously though...
excellent casting.
Just excellent.

Here Is To November

Has it really been almost 2 weeks since I have posted last??
Time flies when the semester is ending.
I returned from Thanksgiving break in one piece
and I actually don't mind being back at school since there are only 2 weeks left.
I will be writing a post about my Thanksgiving break soon!

For now...
I broke out the Christmas music today (in attempt to get into the Christmas spirit)
Found a handful of amazing songs that I will be sharing periodically
and last, but not least, I have been reunited with Hil Billy.
We commemorated this reunion with a trip to our FAVORITE BBQ spot
5 Star BBQ on Geneva in Orem.
Every time we go we take a picture and post it on instagram
in hopes that they choose us for their monthly free meal give away.
Here is to November!

One last word
But I can't hear you
Watching white doves fly
As you close your eyes
And I don't dare try
I don't know how to say goodbye
Goodbye
Keep holding on to let go
This is the ending I know
It cuts me right to the bone
This is the ending I know

The Host

This is honestly one of the most beautiful books I have ever read.
And I'm unbelievably stoked for this movie.

And they couldn't have picked a more perfect song for this trailer.

A Few Favorites

November Nonsense

I feel like I've been slacking a bit ever since Halloween.
So let's play catch up, shall we?
This white stuff...
I suppose Winter is finally here!
And speaking of snow....
Whoever created this snowman battle field at my apartment complex is officially my hero.

 Celebrating Caitlin's 24th birthday at Malawi's!
I love everything about the Riverwoods during this season.
Random, but memorable, trips to WinCo with Brian and Jenn
I got to see my family AGAIN but this time in Utah!
Emerson looked so cute all bundled up.
She loved her first experience in the snow.
And I'll say it again, don't be deceived by her facial expression... She actually does love me.

I also have seen 3 pretty great movies this month:

1. Fun Size
I thought this movie was pretty funny. I loved Victoria Justice in this movie as well. Although Nickelodeon produced this movie it was not a little kid movie. There were quite a few famous people in this movie that I had no idea were in it. That was a nice surprise!

2. Skyfall
I grew up watching all of the old Bond movies with my dad. I hadn't seen any of Daniel Craig's Bond movies but had heard good things. I definitely thought he played an excellent Bond. I really liked this movie but started getting restless towards the end of the movie. I felt like they could have cut out about 20 minutes of the movie.

I can't stop singing the theme song
Even though the only words I know are
Skyfallllll

3. Wreck It Ralph
I loooved this movie. I really want to go see it again because I laughed practically the whole time but can't remember any of the jokes. This movie is perfect for kids and adults. Venelope von Schweets is adorable! I also loved the message of the movie.
Love who you are.

Are all you twi-hards excited for the last installment in 2 days?
...I'm not.
But I know that I'll go see it.
Dang you Twilight.

Emerson's First Birthday

I can't believe I haven't even blogged about this yet!
November 4th was Emerson Rose Croshaw's first birthday.
You can read about the day she was born here
Matt and I were lucky enough to be down in Vegas for her birthday.
I seriously love this little girl so much and wish I could be with her everyday!
She is such a blessing to our family!
I love you little Em bug.
Here are some pics from Emerson's owl themed birthday party.
(Side note: I promise Emmie is actually a really happy baby but just happens to practice her pouty face every time I pull out a camera.)

Typical Jord-man just catching pigeons with his bare hands

Kate & Max laughing at Matt because he spilled his water on his pants.
Such cute littles!
 The pinata craze
 Emmie loooovves her grandpa!
(even though it doesn't look like it)
At Emerson's birthday brunch on Sunday.
Maybe Emmie learns how to pout from Jordan??

Emerson loves:
Baby Einsteins
Playing peek a boo
Throwing pots and pans out of the cupboard
Crawling
Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Grandma
Grandpa
Pretending to fly with her dad
Snuggling with her mom
Pouting

Rainy Monday

You won't see me change my mind
But I really wish that I
Could forget the way you are
But you left this feeling here inside me
The battle in my mind still fights me

They Do Not Define Us

“What we have, what we wish we had – ambitions fulfilled, ambitions disappointed … investments won, investments lost … elections won, elections lost – these things may occupy our attention, but they do not define us. And each of them is subject to the vagaries and serendipities of life. Our relationship with our Maker, however, depends on none of this. It is entirely in our control, for He is always at the door, and knocks for us. Our worldly successes cannot be guaranteed, but our ability to achieve spiritual success is entirely up to us, thanks to the grace of God. The best advice I know is to give those worldly things your best but never your all, reserving the ultimate hope for the only one who can grant it.”

Halloween Part 3

It's about time I wrote about Halloween part 3, right!?
It was by far the most fun Halloween event of the season.
OrangeSoda gets REALLY into Halloween.
And if you didn't believe me before I posted these pictures...
then you will.
Each department selects a theme and goes ALL OUT.
The theme for my team was Hocus Pocus.
We won most creative!
We were all pretty stoked about that.
My boss dressed up as Winnie (the red head in the middle)
She's pretty awesome, huh?

 Receptionist love
 Zachary Binks from Hocus Pocus.
Korean rapper Psy and his crew.
Definitely the highlight of my Halloween.
One team did a Despicable Me theme and it rocked my world.
I love those little minions.
Whitney was a little circus monkey
My brother Matt's team did the Charlie and the Soda Factory theme.
Charlie is actually their manager
and they really did make an orange soda river.
 More circus freaks
V for Vendetta
So sooo creepy
 #OccupyWallStreet
And it wouldn't be an epic Halloween without the fire department showing up!
It was an awesome first Halloween at OrangeSoda!

Never Say Never

Wish I would've listened to myself
You would've thought I'd known better
Shouldn't trust my heart this time
But the mind, it changes like the weather
...
Gotta be careful what you give
You never know just what you get
Who knows, maybe the best hasn't happened yet
...
Wish I could start a fire to the pouring rain
