Movies and Such.

Well I've seen a handful of incredible movies and I must share.
Surprisingly I hadn't seen some of these yet.

Soul Surfer:
I happened to catch this movie on TV and got sucked in.
First off, Carrie Underwood is in this movie and her acting is so bad it hurts.
Poor Carrie.
Next, I want to live in Hawaii.
Finally, this movie gave me chills.
Who doesn't love an underdog overcoming all odds?
Overall, I liked this movie.

Super 8:
AMAZING.

This group of young actors/actresses was incredible.
I loved them all and of course Kyle Chandler
(Coach Taylor, for all you FNL fans) is in it.
I loved the little crushes between kids (of course, I'm a sucker).
I enjoyed the plot even though it's about an alien...
Which typically isn't my thing.
However, I would recommend this movie to anyone.

Les Miserables:
Classic

I grew up singing "On My Own" from the theatrical version
and this week my mom & I have been singing it a lot.
It was super weird when my family & I found it playing on TV.
I really love the movie version.
I think Liam Neeson is a perfect Jean Valjean.
This plot of morality, justice, and mercy makes me cry.
If you don't know the play or movie.
Watch it.

The Help:
Most likely you have heard of this one before!

This week I watched The Help for the second time.
My sister watched it for the first time and it was so fun to watch her fall in love with it.
This movie is so amazing and teaches us so much of the prejudice that did and still does exist today.
This is a tear jerker.
You is kind. You is smart. You is important.

Sense and Sensibility:
Last but not least
A Jane Austen novel adapted to a movie.
If you love Pride & Prejudice as much as I do then you will love this.
Basically it is about two sisters...
One full of sense and the other full of sensibilty.
Kate Winslet plays the sister full of passion following her heart.
This scene was so beautiful.
Honestly, these kinds of movies are my favorite.
I know most people find them really boring but I just love them.
I definitely cried a few times.
Alan Rickman is in this movie...
Many of you know him as Professor Snape.
And of course he is the silent, adoring, unknown hero type of character.
I grow fonder of him every time I watch him act.
I just loved him in this movie.
Let's just say Professor Snape gets his happy ending in one way or another.

With all this extra time I have definitely enjoyed relaxing and catching up on the modern culture. I love love love coming home. It is so warm here I don't know how to go back to such freezing Utah weather.

Also, I have taken up sports. As in... I have decided to watch the NBA games. As in.. I have watched 2 games. I really love the Sacramento Kings clearly because Jimmer is on the team. I didn't start loving him till he left Provo because Jimmer Mania got so intense. Typically things that become really popular make me like it less. Ex: Justin Bieber. Anyways, I know the Kings sort of... suck. But I know most of their names now and I don't really feel like switching. I think what's done is done. My heart has already been won over. Please fill me in on any suggestions
or things I should know about being an NBA guru. Which clearly I will become (as if I didn't look like one already).

AND PLEASE don't tell me I should like the Lakers or Kobe Bryant or else we can't be friends anymore.
