Life is Good.

Well school is out & summer is here!
Sort of... I mean it did snow yesterday/today
I am looking forward to relaxing...

Last night I saw Water For Elephants.
The trailer for this movie was so nicely done.
It felt so magical.
I went in with high expectations
Thinking I would leave with a new favorite movie
& it was great!
But very violent and intense.
It isn't my new ultimate fav but it was still
extremely entertaining
& I'm a sucker for a good romance :]
I thought the acting was great too!
Oh and now I want a pet elephant.

Tonight I went & saw Just Got With It in the dollar theatre
If you haven't seen it you need to!!
It was sooo cute & hilarious.

I would definitely go see it again.
Just our normal shenanigans.
Linzee is leaving us and moving to St. George
so there was a party where we all said our goodbyes!
I HATE goodbyes!
And now..
for my
new
obsession

Summertide

UVUSA 2011-2012
Sorry but this is all I got for this week.
It has been a long, incredibly stressful week!
I just want it to be over.
I had to move out/move in
finish all homework & tests
work
family is here
Banquets, dances, etc.

Last night was the first UVUSA 2011-2012 event that we worked
it was the end of the year dance called
Summertide
(see picture above)
As much as I hated everything about this week
I loved every minute of council events

Stop screaming & start listening.

I stumbled upon this video from someone else's blog.
I HAVE to share it because it is this key concept
I had forgotten.
The power of vulnerability.

"Let ourselves be seen, deeply seen, vulnerably seen. To let ourselves love with our whole hearts even though there is no guarantee & that’s really hard. To practice gratitude & joy in those moments of terror when we are wondering: can I love you this much? Can I believe in this as passionately as I do? Can I be this fierce about this? Just STOP & instead of catastrophize what might happen just be grateful because to feel this vulnerable mean you are alive. And last which is most important is to believe you are enough because when we work from a place that says i am enough we stop screaming and start listening. We are kinder and gentler to those around us. We are kinder and gentler to ourselves. "

Don't forget that being vulnerable is beautiful.

My crazy weekend.

This past weekend was great.
With finals coming up & life getting so crazy before the end of the semester ...
it was fun to just relax.
Friday was my last day working at Honda
so once I was done working I came home & relaxed
I made some cookies
& Melissa and Erin came home
Then Matt, Brian , & Hannah came over
We stayed up till 3:30am talking/watching The Real World.
Saturday was even better.
I woke up late, went to the gym
& hung out with Alexandria all day
that night some friends went to SLC for dinner
& spent the night at Hannah's house in Bountiful
It was a blast!
This is a mannequin named Fletcher.
I found him in Hannah's closet when I was changing
(you can imagine how scared I was)
so we decided to pull a prank on the boys & scare them.
It worked.
It runs in the family.
Eating at the Red Iguana
(so yummy!)
It was on Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives
My favorite show on the food network
It is on my bucket list to eat at one of the places
that has been on the show.
Mission accomplished.
Just drivin' in the car, ready for a road trip.

"Things Work Out" By Edgar Guest

Because it rains when we wish it wouldn’t,

Because men do what they often shouldn’t,

Because crops fail, and plans go wrong-

Some of us grumble all day long.

But somehow, in spite of the care and doubt,

It seems at last that things work out.

Because we lose where we hoped to gain,

Because we suffer a little pain,

Because we must work when we’d like to play-

Some of us whimper along life’s way.

But somehow, as day always follows the night,

Most of our troubles work out all right.

Because we cannot forever smile,

Because we must trudge in the dust awhile,

Because we think that the way is long-

Some of us whimper that life’s all wrong.

But somehow we live and our sky grows bright,

And everything seems to work out all right.

So bend to your trouble and meet your care,

For the clouds must break, and the sky grow fair.

Let the rain come down, as it must and will,

But keep on working and hoping still.

For in spite of the grumblers who stand about,

Somehow, it seems, all things work out.

For all the Harry Potter fans out there.

You know who you are.

Reviews

So these are my thoughts...
First of all, my friends & I are going through a scary movie phase.
If you know of any good ones let me know!
Because there are a lot of stupid ones out there ...
like The Roommate.

The entire movie is a series of nothing happening
& then the last 5 minutes there is a fight.
So, unless it's in the dollar theatre DON'T see it!

Also, I have been quite deprived of good shows on Hulu.
I hate how there are always breaks in a TV series.
And right now ALL my favorite shows are taking a vacation.
Sooo I've just been watching random shows & came across this one....
Parenthood.
I LOVE Lauren Grahm because of her role in Gilmore Girls
So I gave it a shot... and I LOVE this show!
The characters & plot are all so real.
I highly recommend it.
Anyways, Have a great Thursday :]
